All About The Yarn Workshop Tutor Bio: Janet Friel
Janet has worked with me (Nicky) since I took over the yarn business in 2018 and is All About The Yarn's resident Crochet Queen delivering a variety of crochet workshops for all abilities. She also offers 1-1 crochet lessons from our studio at Chesterblade Hills during the week.

"I grew up in rural Pembrokeshire and spent my childhood drawing, painting, knitting, sewing and crocheting. My dolls had an extensive and somewhat unusual wardrobe!
After completing my degree in printmaking I qualified as an art teacher and taught in secondary schools and sixth form colleges in Kent and London.
Following our move to Frome in 1997 I combined being a mum with teaching art at a local primary school, and it was then that I rediscovered my love of knitting, and in particular, crochet. This led to me teaching crochet classes and I have loved spreading the joy of this wonderfully creative craft ever since.
Crochet is a fantastic medium to explore colour and texture and is a hugely relaxing and rewarding pastime. It can be used for clothes, homewares, toys and more, and is becoming increasingly popular with modern designers.
It would be lovely to see you in the glorious setting of Chesterblade. Although I’m right handed, I am able to crochet and teach left handed, so don’t let that put you off!"
