The Color Spell Shawl by Joji Locatelli is a lovely, fun knit and very approachable for less experienced knitters whilst having enough interest to keep the more confident amongst you entertained. It's such a great pattern for colour exploration and we couldn't resist making a sample for the shop using Kremke Soul Wool Edelweiss Alpaka, little 25g balls of 4-ply sock yarn available in an impressive 56 shades.
In honour of our Summer 2024 Knitalong of this wonderful shawl knitting pattern, we have created six Color Spell Shawl yarn bundles with our own colour suggestions (of course you are very welcome to choose your own colour combo from the 56 available shades of Edelweiss Alpaka). We have had a lot of fun playing with the Edelweiss Alpaka yarn to come up with four seasonally-inspired bundles plus two more kits based on Janet's yarn choices for the shop sample, as seen in the above photo, and my colour suggestions (I've picked shades that are close to Joji Locatelli's original sample in per her own pattern photos).
Edelweiss Alpaka 4-ply is a surprisingly soft sock yarn that comes in cute little 25g balls in a big range of 56 colours. The fibre composition is 65% Wool, 25% Nylon, 10% Alpaca.

Yarn requirements: You will need 10 balls in total of the Edelweiss Alpaka 4-ply: 3 x balls for MC1, 2 x balls for MC2 and then 1 ball each of 5 further contrast colours.
Suggested needle: 3.5mm/80cm circular (or whatever needle size achieves gauge)
Gauge = 23stitches x 34 rows over 10cm in stocking stitch
