Learn to knit a classic pair of socks from the top down in this friendly and supportive workshop. Whether you've always wanted to knit socks or need a refresher, this course will guide you through the essential techniques.
We'll be using Magic Loop, a fantastic method that lets you knit socks with just one circular needle—perfect for travel-friendly, summer holiday knitting. If you’re used to double-pointed needles (DPNs) and prefer them, you're welcome to bring your own set of 2.5mm DPNs.
What you’ll learn:
✔️ Casting on & joining in the round
✔️ Knitting in the round using the magic loop technique
✔️ Turning a heel (it’s easier than it sounds!)
✔️ Picking up heel stitches
✔️ Decreasing for the gusset
✔️ Shaping and finishing the toe
You'll work on a mini sock during the workshop to practice all the key techniques. With your included 100g ball of Opal self-striping sock yarn and 2.5mm circular needle, you'll have everything you need to continue knitting a full-sized pair at home including a basic pattern for an adult pair of socks.
Extra Learning Support
📩 Before the workshop: You'll receive a Magic Loop video tutorial to help you feel confident with the technique before the day.
🎥 After the workshop: You'll gain access to additional video tutorials, so you can revisit the techniques anytime.
